Package installation XML errors

Hi,

I'm using the Webbased PEAR Package Manager to install packages, but many
category links are returning the following error:

Invalid xml downloaded from "
http://pear.php.net/rest/c/Database/packagesinfo.xml": XML Error: 'xml
declaration not at start of external entity' on line '558'

Some are working fine, such as "Configuration", "Event", "PHP", but there
are several returning a similar error, such as "Authentication", "Mail",
"Tools and Utilities", each with a different line number given.

Is this a problem with your files or with my Package Manager? I'm very new
to PEAR so I apologize if I'm overlooking something silly.
